Walk under the trees with the red colobus, a monkey found only on Zanzibar, then cross the mangrove boardwalk where the forest meets the sea.

Jozani Chwaka Bay is Zanzibar’s only national park. Its stars are the Zanzibar red colobus monkeys, which live nowhere else on Earth and are used to people walking quietly below them.

Your ranger leads you along forest paths and onto the boardwalk through the mangroves, a whole other world of roots, crabs and tide.
