The big one, without the long drives. Fly from Zanzibar to the Serengeti, spend two days on the plains and finish with a morning on the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater.
If you only have a few days but you want the Serengeti, fly. A light aircraft takes you from Zanzibar to an airstrip in the middle of the plains, and your guide is waiting with a pop-up-roof vehicle.
Two days in the Serengeti give you time to follow the herds and the cats that follow them. On the last morning you drive to the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the best places in Africa to see black rhino, and fly back to Zanzibar from the crater’s airstrip at the end of the day.
