2 Days Mikumi Safari by Ferry & Train

Safari 2 days Private From US$590
Overview

The adventurous way to safari: fast ferry to Dar es Salaam, the new electric train inland, then game drives in Mikumi and a night at a lodge on the plains. Good value and a real journey.

Not every safari needs a plane. This one starts on the morning ferry across the channel and continues on Tanzania’s modern electric railway to Morogoro, where your guide meets you for the drive to Mikumi National Park.

You spend the afternoon and the next morning on game drives across the floodplain, sleep at a lodge with views of the plains and travel back the same way. It costs far less than a fly-in safari and you see the country from the ground.
