Nungwi & Kendwa

The tip of Zanzibar is where the tide matters least. The sea stays deep enough for swimming most of the day, which makes Nungwi and Kendwa the easiest beaches for families and first-timers.

Nungwi is lively, with fishing boats, dhow builders and a busy beach. Kendwa, a short walk south, is calmer and famous for its sunsets.
